Thyme Together - is a therapeutic gardening project which offers people with dementia and their carers the chance to access much needed help from point of diagnosis and for as long as they feel they can benefit from the activities. The project specifically targets the need to support vital social inclusion as well as positive relationships between the person with dementia and their carers as a preventative measure to alleviate the stress and anxiety they can both experience.

The project currently runs on Fridays on a specially designed walled Garden situated on the Bromag Estate in West Witney.

We just love coming here. It really makes our week. Afterwards, we both go home with the real feeling of happiness, looking forward to the next time. (Carer)

To maintain and develop this work and respond to demand, we really need help with donations of or financial contribution towards:

  • Restoring the large greenhouse which hosts all our winter/rainy day activities
  • Gardening materials ( soil, seeds, containers)
  • Sun shades and canopies
  • Adaptive tools, seating and mobility aids to help elderly gardeners enjoy the activities
  • Support with transport, trips and outings
  • Support with promotion and publicity
  • Volunteer expenses

Thyme Together also needs caring & supportive volunteers who think they can offer time & experience to the project.
