Our new community shop is located on 3-5 Cross Street, Ware and is open four days a week (Tues, Weds, Fri, Sat) from 10am-4pm. It offers beautiful plants from Ware in Bloom, stunning art works by local artists and delicious deli products. So, if you’re a fan of mouthwatering jams, rich lemon curds, tasty cordials, gorgeous crisps and wonderful chocolate and fudge then this community shop is a new place for you to go.

The shop won’t just sell lovely products, it will create incredible, life-changing opportunities for people with learning disabilities, supporting 6-8 trainees each week to gain valuable work experience before they go on to realise their dream of securing paid employment.

The shop will be formally opened on the 8th May by the Mayor of Ware, Alex Curtis who will be cutting the obligatory ribbon and have the opportunity to appreciate the delicious food, beautiful artwork and plants on offer, and find out more about how the shop will complement all the other activities currently running in and from Guideposts Cross Street Hub.

The opening of our new shop would not have been possible without the help of our many supporters. We would like to give a big thank you to Richard Rowe, Alex Radcliffe Macdonald and Susie Goodwin who repainted the shop in their spare time, Jan Wing from Ware in Bloom who kindly provided plants for us to sell in the shop as well as Stuart at Cupaz and Matt at The Property Refurb Company who decorated for free!!

Guideposts Shop Manager, Jo Radcliffe believes the new shop will bring something different to Ware:

This deli, with its lovely foods and drinks plus unique art works offers something new in Ware and will be a funky place to go and engage with the wider community. We hope everyone will come and visit, enjoy being part of it, and support it, knowing Guideposts is a great charity that makes a tremendous difference in the lives of people with disabilities and mental health problems locally.
