Where our music therapy sessions take place currently

Guideposts Music Therapy Service exists to improve peoples lives and wellbeing. Everybody has the ability to connect with and respond to music, and music therapy uses this connection to facilitate positive changes in emotional wellbeing and communication through the engagement in live musical interaction between the person and the therapist.

Guideposts Music Therapy service offers music therapy to individuals, couples and large and small groups. Sessions take place in community centres, residential care homes, schools, and we also offer home visits. We also run several community-based, music therapist led groups (see details below).

We operate throughout Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.

We work with people with a range of conditions, including dementia, brain injury and stroke, learning disability, autism, and mental health conditions.

Music & Wellbeing Group, Witney

This group is run in collaboration with Age UK and meets monthly to support people living with dementia.

We sing, use accessible instruments to play music and improvise, and this year we wrote a song together which made it onto national radio! https://youtu.be/SISeb03Pq60 Family, friends and carers are welcome.
