Our Community Hub, 3-5 Cross Street, is located at the heart of the Ware community. It runs a range of activities for adults and young people who have a learning disability, and can give support in areas such as:

  • Pursuing hobbies and interests in the community
  • Accessing community facilities such as shops, restaurant, cinema, libraries, leisure centres etc.
  • Making and maintaining friendships
  • Developing communication with signing, symbols, iPads etc.
  • Money-management and budgeting
  • Work skills and experience
  • Relaxation through the use of our unique Multi-Sensory room
  • and much more...

The Hub also organises various activities based on what the people we support tell us they want to do such art and craft, supported shopping and cooking/baking activities, jewellery making, walking and gardening.

Would you like to volunteer?

We couldn’t run our Hub without the help of our fantastic volunteers. Volunteers can help in many different ways: actively support with the various groups, activities and outings, offering friendship support, driving people to and from the Hub ...and much more.

Have you got gardening skills and a few hours to spare?

We are appealing to volunteer gardeners to help us develop our garden into a beautiful sensory area for everyone at our hub to enjoy. The garden will give a unique chance to the people who attend the Hub to develop the skills and share the joy of growing plants and vegetables. Some of the plants and vegetables will be sold in our Community Shop now attached to the Hub at Cross Street.

To volunteer you need to be 18+ (some volunteer opportunities also available for 16+). No prior training or experience required as training and support provided.
