Community Opportunities Manager – Hertfordshire

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Based in Watford or Ware with travel

 

Guideposts currently have an exciting opportunity, for someone who would like to make a difference in our community opportunities services. 

Guideposts is a multi-disciplinary social care and mental health charity focused first and foremost upon PEOPLE. As a charity we have over 45 years’ experience meeting the needs of individuals who face any number of complex challenges; from autism, learning disability and mental health conditions, to physical disability and age-related conditions, such as dementia, sensory impairment and mobility problems. Whether through active care and support services, information advice and guidance or independent living and training projects; Guideposts exists in order to connect people and their carers with opportunities.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to enhance and develop the experience for the people who use our services.

You will have:

  • previous management experience of working with people in the community
  • the ability to manage the performance of teams across a dispersed workforce
  • leadership and people management skills including staff development
  • experience of developing existing services to meet changing needs and priorities
  • an understanding of funding streams including procurement and commissioning and reporting back to funders
  • project management skills
  • be proactive and willing to use own initiative

You will be responsible for leading the teams and for the continuous improvement of the services, developing and promoting the services within the local community.

We are looking for someone who has will have experience of building solid relationships with key stakeholders and who can:

Deliver innovative person-focussed services

  • Manage budget expenditure and assist in producing annual budgets and service development plans
  • Contribute to the development of policies and strategies and the QMS processes
  • Represent the organization with a wide range of external stakeholders

Reporting to the Chief Executive you will ensure excellent services are delivered and are compliant with both internal and external regulatory standards. You will also be responsible for leading, advising and motivating staff teams and your duties will include staff supervision and team meetings.

Ideally you will hold an NVQ/QCF in Health & social care level 4 with willingness to undertake level 5. Candidates with management qualifications e.g. ILM level 5 are also welcome to apply.
