CES Team Leader

Salary: £ 22,000

Location: Gloucester (with travel across the county)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Guideposts is a multi-disciplinary social care and mental health network focused first and foremost upon PEOPLE. As a charity we have over 40 years’ experience meeting the needs of individuals who face any number of complex challenges; from autism, learning disability and mental health conditions, to physical disability and age-related conditions, such as dementia, sensory impairment and mobility problems. Whether through active care and support services, information advice and guidance or independent living and training projects; Guideposts exists in order to connect people and their carers with opportunities.


The Carers Emergency Scheme (CES) is run by a partnership on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council. Guideposts co-ordinates the scheme in partnership with Carers Gloucestershire who undertake carers’ assessments, Worcestershire Telecare who provide a 24 hour helpline, and Crossroads Care who provide Support Workers who will provide replacement care in the event of an emergency which takes a carer away from their caring role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • can demonstrate an understanding of Carers needs and the particular issues they experience.
  • has excellent communication skills – verbal and written, by phone and in person
  • has experience working with the general public ideally in a health or social care setting
  • can multi-task and prioritise their own workload
  • has experience in leading a team
  • has experience working in partnership with other organisations
  • can drive as you will be required to travel across Gloucestershire


Using your existing knowledge of the sector you will effectively contribute to the re-tendering of this service over the coming year in conjunction with Gloucestershire County Council as well as continue the regular contact with and monitoring of the sub contractors.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role. The cost will be met by the employer.
